RIOT to Shake up the Meta Ahead of MSI 2022

League of Legends game designer Tim “Truexy” Jiang has shared a preview of the upcoming update 12.7. The update’s main goal is to shake up the meta ahead of the upcoming Mid-Season Invitational 2022.

The developers are going to nerf four champions – Zeri, Ryze, Lee Sin and Jayce, while a handful of others will get buffs – among them are Gwen, Pantheon, Yasuo, Yone, Wukong, Neeko, Gangplank, Kalista, Lillia and Karthus. The update will also have some additional adjustments for Rengar.

On top of they, the developers are going to increase the effectiveness of such items such Umbral Glaive and Abyssal Mask, while Winter's Approach/Fimbulwinter, Moonstone Renewer, and Galeforce will be nerfed. They will also make weaker the rune Time Warp Tonic.

It is expected that update 12.7 will be released on April 13th, which means that the participants of Mid-Season Invitational 2022 will have about a month to adjust to the changes – earlier we reported that the event will be played on May 10th – 29th in South Korea. Currently the line-up includes only T1, who earlier this weekend defeated Gen.G Esports in the grand finals of LCK Spring 2022.
