G2 to Start ESL Pro League 15 without Aleksib
G2’s in-game leader Aleksi "Aleksib" Virolainen will miss the start of ESL Pro League Season 15. The player started feeling sick after the conclusion of IEM Katowice and was tested positive for COVID-19. Now the player has recovered and waits for a negative test – however, he will not be able to travel to Düsseldorf in time for the start of the event.
Thus, the team once against brings in the 28-years-old player François "AMANEK" Delaunay, who has been on the team’s bench since late January. Earlier last month AMANEK helped the team to finish second at IEM Katowice, replacing the team’s coach Rémy "XTQZZZ" Quoniam during the playoffs when he fell ill with COVID-19.
At ESL Pro League Season 15, G2 Esports will compete in Group A alongside Ninjas in Pyjamas, Entropiq, Fnatic, MOUZ and LookingForOrg. Their first match against L4Org is scheduled for today, 9th March, 11:30 AM UK time.
